Vi ønsket å observere elva og områdene rundt, og ikke minst flomsikringstiltakene der. Slike befaringer er nyttige i arbeidet med å vurdere hvilke naturbaserte løsninger som vil fungere best for å bedre forholdene langs elva og begrense flomskader.

Field trip under the sun - Gausa
After doing research about the Gausa Basin for a few months, it is always a good idea to go on the field to keep track of the reality on the ground. On Wednesday 20 April, a group of SABICAS colleagues from NIVA and NINA went to Lillehammer to visit the Gausa area.
Our aim was to observe the river and its surroundings, and the flood protection measures that have been put in place.
This kind of field work is always helpful to consider what nature-based solutions would be the most appropriate to improve the conditions along the river and limit flood damage. Thank you Jon Museth for organizing the trip and showing us relevant places during this day!
